National Transit Database (NTD) Reporting

The course will cover the latest NTD policy changes and reporting clarifications and give you practical strategies to improve your reporting process and minimize validation errors. The course is timed in advance of the January 30 reporting deadlines.

Understanding Transit Formula Funding

This course demystifies federal transit funding formulas. Make sense of how your formula allocation was calculated, whether it's correct, and what you can do to maximize future funding.

TrAMS End-to-End training offers a comprehensive tutorial of FTA’s entire grant making system. Targeted training provides a more focused look on the parts of TrAMS they need most, including developing applications, financial transactions and reporting, and modifying and closing out awards.

Know Your Community
Pilot training: January 20, 2027. Full trainings: February 17, 2027, and March 17, 2027

Designed for transit generalists, this course shows you how to put your own routes and service areas on a map, see the demographics of the people you serve, understand best practices in passenger survey data, and turn that knowledge into stronger service plans, grant applications, and community outreach. No GIS or coding experience is required, and participants get free access to our companion mapping tool.

Conflict Management for Transportation Professionals
January 26, 2027
Transit agencies run on people — and people, especially under pressure, don't always agree. Led by Ed Watt, Principal of WattADR LLC, this course gives your team practical tools for identifying and resolving workplace conflict before it affects morale, productivity, or retention.

Procurement Essentials for FTA Recipients

February 1, 2027

The training will provide an overview of Federal procurement rules and best practices for FTA funding recipients. Topics will include applicability, procurement methods and thresholds, and the procurement file. The course is designed for staff who are new to the procurement arena or who seek to better understand work performed by others in their agency.

Procurement for FTA Recipients: Full Series

February 2-5, 2027

A 12-hour series of four 3-hour sessions on third party contracting. Participants work through applicability, procurement methods and thresholds, the independent cost estimate, price and profit, federal clauses, contract administration, and the procurement file. The series ends with a capstone scenario. Designed for procurement staff who negotiate contracts and for agencies preparing for a Triennial Review or State Management Review.
